Nijmegen City of Compassion

On 9 November 2018, World Compassion Day, Mayor Bruls and councillors signed the Nijmegen City of Compassion Declaration (https://www.nijmegenstadvancompassie.nl/ondertekening-van-de-verklaring-van-nijmegen-stad-van-compassie). The message was and still is clear: Nijmegen wants to be a city for all, a city that stands for compassion for each other.

Nijmegen, City of Compassion, is an initiative taken by a number of Nijmegen organisations: Centrum Ontmoeting in Levensvragen, the Hobbycentrum Nonnendaal, Huis van Compassie, Bij Bosshardt, Pleisterplaats van de Ziel and the Raad voor Levensbeschouwing en Religie Nijmegen. Committed "unattached" Nijmegen residents are also taking part in the initiative.

Meanwhile, more than 100 organisations have joined Nijmegen City of Compassion and we continue to work on connection, equality and a positive appreciation of diversity. Anyone wishing to join further is most welcome.
