Livelihood security
Several tens of thousands of people reside in the Netherlands without a valid residence permit. People whose permits have expired, asylum seekers who have exhausted all legal remedies, foreign women with children who have been sent away by their (Dutch) partner before they were entitled to an independent residence permit, victims of human trafficking who have not dared to report it, stateless people who cannot return to the country of birth or origin. Not having a valid residence permit makes a person excluded from social services. Using regular shelter is only possible under the condition of cooperating in returning to the country of origin. This puts permanent pressure on the livelihoods of undocumented people.
What are we looking for?
For Kansfonds, every person counts and everyone has the right to a dignified existence. Therefore, we continue to support projects aimed at sheltering and guiding undocumented people.
