Help with a donation

With a bicycle you participate
Our project collects unused bikes, repairs them and gives the bikes to people who would like a bike but cannot afford one.

Food Hub

The FoodHub fights food waste and loneliness. We collect food, save it and distribute it to social restaurants.

Nijmegen in Dialogue

City residents engage with each other on topics that are important to them in their daily lives. The aim is to organise valuable meetings between all kinds of Nijmegen residents.

Soup there

Volunteers from Project: 'Soepie Erbij' make vegetarian soups and sauces with raw materials from the Food Hub. House of Compassion sells these to organisations and businesses in the region.

Meals

At the House of Compassion, meeting is key. We use healthy ingredients at every vegetarian meal. Being together during the meal provides an opportunity to meet other people!

Energy coaches

Energy coaches

The Energy Coaches make home visits to people who would like practical tips and support on saving energy. A visit is free of charge.

What does the House of Compassion do

House of Compassion is a low-threshold place where many different activities take place that focus on compassion for people in a socially vulnerable position.

Compassion with people living in poverty, refugees, and those who are socially isolated and/or have health problems, for example. We organise activities for people in a socially vulnerable position, but at the same time also for people who are doing well. It is precisely the encounter between different groups of people that we pursue, as this can lead to understanding for each other and respect.
