With a bicycle you join in
The Bicycle Project "With a bicycle you join in!" aims to use bicycles to support people living at or below the poverty line.
Every year about 1 million bicycles are discarded and left for waste. At the same time, more and more families are experiencing mobility poverty, hindering their social participation and access to employment, for example.
A bicycle makes a difference. With a bicycle you participate! That is why Huis van Compassie Nijmegen supports people with a low income with a bicycle.

Heb je een fiets over? Doneer 'm dan!
Unfortunately, having your own bicycle is not a given for everyone. And yet it is the very difference maker for people living on limited income. People in poverty live in long-term stress. Exercise and outdoor air are effective tools against this and contribute to good physical and mental resilience. Cycling is healthy, cycling relaxes, cycling takes you literally and figuratively from A to B. And thus to meetings, support, education and work. So a bicycle contributes to happiness in mobility. The bicycle project "With a bicycle you participate" collects used bicycles, refurbishes them and ensures that they end up with people in poverty who do not have their own bicycle. By donating your bicycle, you enlarge the world of someone in poverty. Cycling to school, the sports club or friends becomes possible again.
There are two ways to donate your bike: drop it off at a Bike Donation Point or have it picked up.
I deliver the bike myself!
We are greatly helped if you choose to return the bike(s) yourself at one of our Bike Donation Points. These are the Bicycle Donation Points:

You can, too. Below you will find a sign-up sheet. Once we receive your application form, we will send you an email with all the details about picking up your bike(s). Our volunteers will do their best to come by and pick up your bike(s) within eight weeks.

NIEUW #FIETSDONATIEPUNT
Met trots presenteren we een nieuw #FietsDonatiePunt. Vanaf nu kun je ook jouw fiets ook doneren bij Evers-Janssen Tweewielers. Zij zijn gevestigd aan de Kanunnik Osstraat 2A in Nijmegen (in Brakkestein).
Dus heb je een fiets over? Doneer ‘m dan bij Evers-Janssen Tweewielers of bij één van onze andere FietsDonatiePunten.
Fiets aanvragen
Het Fietsenproject ‘Met een fiets doe je mee’ stelt gratis fietsen beschikbaar aan mensen met een lager inkomen dan 130% van de bijstandsnorm die woonachtig zijn in Nijmegen. Val jij of jouw client onder deze criteria dan kan er een fiets aangevraagd worden door dit aanvraagformulier in te vullen en op te sturen naar fiets@huisvancompassienijmegen.nl. Bij ontvangst van de aanvraag wordt er een uitnodiging gestuurd om te komen kijken of er een fiets voor jou of jouw client klaarstaat. Mocht er dan onverhoopt geen fiets tussen staan dan wordt er een nieuwe afspraak gemaakt.
Let op: vergeet op het moment van het ophalen van een fiets niet jouw aanvraagformulier en identiteitskaart mee te nemen.
