When Bruno and Pietro meet in village in the Italian Alps, they are twelve years old.
Pietro is a brooding city boy and Bruno a down-to-earth child of the mountains, and yet the two strike up a friendship that will last a lifetime. Though there are many peaks and valleys along the way.
Beautifully melancholy drama based on the Italian novel Le otto montagne by Paolo Cognetti. Thoughtfully and understatedly directed by Flemish filmmaking couple Felix van Groeningen (of De Helaasheid der dingen) and Charlotte Vandermeersch.
After the film, there will be an opportunity to interact with each other in a relaxed atmosphere and over drinks.
